Everyone knows that chocolate and coffee go together like peanut butter and jelly, right? Ok, I made that last part up, but the flavors of chocolate and coffee compliment each other perfectly. In fact, they go together so well that I often find myself reaching for a little something extra to sweeten up my morning coffee. This is why I want to share with you a great recipe that was passed along to me for Black Forest Coffee. It takes the traditional flavors of black forest cake, rich chocolate, sweet cherries and whipped cream and combine it with strong brewed coffee. This morning wake up is sure to make your morning a touch sweeter.
- 8 ounces strong black coffee
- 3 tbs chocolate syrup
- 1 1/2 tbs maraschino cherry syrup
- whipped cream, for garnish
- chocolate shavings, for garnish
Brew coffee the way you normally would and add to a mug. Add chocolate and maraschino cherry syrup. Stir well and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
