Chocolate's Place in your Diet
Have you ever noticed how when people are trying to lose weight they deprive themselves so much that they ultimately quit before losing any weight? That is because we simply can't go on forever limiting what we eat to things that are supposed to be healthy for us and why is it that no one can agree on what is healthy. Take chocolate for example. The thing that everyone has to remember about chocolate is that in moderation it can be very good for us. There have been articles everywhere recently, including in the New York Times, telling us that chocolate is good for our hearts and that it can help prevent strokes. These articles have been thoroughly been researched by top universities around the world and they all seem to be coming to the same conclusions. That conclusion is that chocolate, in moderation, can have health benefits.
However, the only
kind that is good for us is the really high quality, premium chocolate
like Sulpice Chocolat. Most of the stuff out there is all waxy fats and sugar which will not only hurt your heart but also make you put on loads of weight. The nice thing about high quality chocolate
is that if you have a sweet tooth, like me, then you need a lot less to
satisfy your cravings. That's because there is a much higher cocoa content (the stuff our bodies are craving) in each bite. I know that when I have good chocolate I only
need a few squares to satisfy my cravings but I have to eat an entire Hershey bar to feel
the same way. gah!
