Chocolate Covered Bacon Recipe

It seems like bacon is everywhere nowadays and for good reason. It makes everything better - even chocolate. The salty, smokeyness of everyone's favorite cured meat pairs perfectly with the sweetness of either dark or milk chocolate. In honor of this perfect pairing I decided to try my hand at making a bacon dipped treat.

Ingredients
- 1 pound bacon
- 1/2 pound tempered chocolate, milk and dark chocolate work equally well
- toasted nuts, optional
- sprinkles, optional
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a separate sheet pan with waxed paper. Lay out strips of bacon on a sheet pan and cook approximately 25 minutes until crisp. Once crisp transfer to paper towels to absorb excess grease. Dip bacon into chocolate and transfer to waxed paper and sprinkle with nuts or sprinkles if desired. Put in cooler to set prior to enjoying. Hint - This treat looks best if you allow some of the bacon to remain uncovered. It also makes for a stronger bacon taste.
Variations - Use peppered bacon
